CLAIRE & JONNY’S SUNRISE ENGAGEMENT SHOOT IN PORTUGAL

After years of being a full-time wedding photographer, the locations I get to visit both here in the UK and abroad blow my mind. This destination engagement shoot in the Algarve, Portugal, was no exception.

The Location: Carvoeiro, Faro, Portugal

The location was Carvoeiro, Faro, Portugal. A small picturesque, traditional Portuguese town situated along the most stunning coastline I have ever witnessed.

T As a destination wedding photographer, I’m blessed to get to capture love stories in the most romantic and breathtaking locations around the world. With any destination shoot, I always head out a couple of days before actually shooting. This is to find the best locations, discovering those magical places that create the most breathtaking backdrops to the images I want to create.

Algar Seco, Carvoeiro

When I arrived in Carvoeiro, I threw everything in the hotel and headed out. Camera in hand and ready to explore. Within 30 minutes of exploring the town, I came across Algar Seco. A photographer’s dream. Cliffs, towering over the clear blue ocean. The sound of the ocean waves crashing against the rocks. Secret tunnels running through the cliff face. This is one of the most beautiful locations I have seen. I knew this was the place for the destination shoot.

Algar Seco is somewhat of a secret location of Carvoeiro, as the town itself isn’t one of the most popular in the Algarve. With only a few friendly tourists around I knew this would be the perfect location for Claire & Jonny and their pre-wedding shoot. Always wanting to take things to the next level, we wanted this magical place to ourselves, there was only one way, we had to do a sunrise engagement shoot.

The alarm clock sounded at 4 am. Time to head to this wonderful location. I knew this was going to be a breathtaking day. The golden sun was just starting to peek through the blue ocean top, the cliffs started to turn orange, I knew what was ahead was going to be very special.
