Reason 2

Exclusive access to Lake Windermere

Choosing Town Head means securing an extraordinary level of privacy for your wedding day, as couples enjoy exclusive access to a private stretch of Lake Windermere’s iconic shoreline. Unlike other venues where public footpaths and shared lakefronts diminish the sense of seclusion, Town Head Estate gives you your own piece of Lake Windermere with no public access, no interruptions. This unique benefit ensures couples can enjoy the tranquillity and romance of the lakeside setting in absolute privacy, making it the perfect backdrop for unforgettable moments together.

Not only are you getting one of the best Lake District Wedding venues, you’re getting pure culinary perfection experience thanks to Karen Rhodes Weddings & Events. As the exclusive caterers for the venue and one of the best catering firms in the business. I can assure you that you that Charlotte, Lucy & The Team will not be disappoint. The food is always devine and service second to none.

Reason 4

The Yacht “Marguerite” / Boat Trips

How many venues can claim to have their own yacht, allowing couples to cruise around the beautiful Lake Windermere with a select number of guests? Whilst there is a cost involved to hiring Marguerite, it really can make for a wonderful experience during your wedding experience should the budget allow.

If you’re wanting a unique experience for a larger number of wedding guests like Rachel & Sam, you can, of course, arrange a boat trip for all your guests via Town Head to pick you up from The Boat House and jetty.

Planning Your Town Head Wedding

General Planning FAQs

Make contact with the team at Town Head Estate who will talk you through the specific details about how to book this wedding venue for your special day.

Town Head Estate is a highly sought-after wedding venue in the Lake District. To secure your preferred date, it is essential to reach out and make arrangements as early as possible to avoid any disappointment. In the event that Townhead Estate is fully booked, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me. I may be able to recommend some alternative venues that could be perfect for your special day.

Town Head Estate includes a number of benefits when booking their venue including the wedding barn, beauty suite, grounds, furniture hire and on-site accommodation. You can find a full range of what’s included in your booking at Town head Estate here.

Absolutely. There is plenty of parking at Town Head for anyone driving, your vendors and then some.

Both floors of The Wedding Barn are fully accessible for wheelchairs and include disabled toilets on each floor. Wheelchair users may require some assistance due to a slope at the venue and this should be taken into consideration if you have elderly or disabled guests.

With regards the on site accomodation, in the East Wing they have one ground floor mobility friendly bedroom with a fully accessible bathroom. Wheelchair users can also access the Bridal Preparation and Beauty Suite ensuring all members of your bridal party can be included easily.

Town Head Estate is a child-friendly venue. Dogs are welcome during the daytime in the Wedding Barn and grounds, provided they are under control. However, it is important to note they are not allowed in any of the on-site accomodation or beauty suite so you need to be aware of this…

A wedding day is hectic at the best of times and with everything else looking after children and dogs is just additional stress that can really impact your wedding day. If you want your close family & friends to enjoy themselves I’d suggest investing in a wedding day nanny service/dog walker or at the very least nominate someone to look after your precious bundles on the day so you do not have to.

Photo & Film FAQs

I would say there is so much outdoor space, try to make the most of it and get your guests outside (weather permitting). Sometimes couples make the mistake of not utilising this space effectively during their wedding, and it really is a shame.
