Midland Hotel Wedding, Morecambe – Alicia & Andy
Being chosen to capture any wedding day is an honour and this Midland Hotel Wedding in Morecambe was no exception. Alicia got in contact a few years back whilst she was still living in the United States. Alicia had been searching for a photographer online all the way from Baltimore, Washington. I have to say being chosen from thousands of miles away to capture their wedding day was just magical. I couldn’t wait to meet this gorgeous couple and hear all about their wedding plans.
A military love story
Alicia and Andy’s lives started thousands of miles away from one another on opposite sides of the world. However, through their service in the military their lives crossed paths; and, as both of them say, it was love at first sight. Both Alicia and Andy were deployed to Afghanistan at the same time. They met whilst training in Baltimore and a chance meeting when Andy recognised Alicia from their class in a bar started this love story. Even though this couple have, at times, been thousands of miles away from one another, it’s clear to see the strength and love they share.
The Midland Hotel, Morecambe
This Midland Hotel is a great wedding location. Combined with the spring sunshine, together they provided the perfect backdrop for Alicia and Andy’s wedding day. A day, that brought their friends and family together from all over the globe to celebrate their love.
Midland Hotel Wedding : Ceremony
Alicia and Andy’s wedding ceremony was at the beautiful Ashton Memorial set in Williamson’s Park in Lancaster, Lancashire. A beautiful, iconic and historic monument. The guests arriving and departing in style on a stunning vintage bus.
Midland Hotel Wedding : Reception
Returning to The Midland Hotel in Morecambe, the guests enjoyed a great wedding breakfast, speeches and of course an evening party. Anyone who has been to a wedding at The Midland Hotel will know that when the weather is nice it Morecambe has some of the best sunsets in the world. Even though the wind was strong, the weather was dry and, as the evening celebrations began we had to take up the opportunity to get more stunning images. Taking time for your wedding photography is so important, what you put into it you get back ten fold, from beautiful strolls down the pier to dancing in your wedding dress, these are memories that will last a lifetime and something I think Alicia valued.
Alicia & Andy, it was an absolute pleasure to photograph your wedding day and meet your amazing family and friends, thank you for making me feel so welcome and allowing me to capture the moment for you both. I hope you’ve enjoyed these little snap shots from your beautiful wedding.
