Liverpool Wedding – St George’s Hall + Hope Street Hotel – Lydia + Rob

Some of you will know I’m totally in love with Liverpool.  I used to work for Liverpool’s Radio City up in the tower that dominates the city skyline.  So when Lydia & Rob asked me to photograph their Liverpool Wedding I jumped at the opportunity.  When they first told me the ceremony was at the historic wedding venue of St George’s Hall, Liverpool I beamed.  When they followed it up with their wedding reception venue as Liverpool’s Hope Street Hotel I couldn’t believe my luck.  They have both been Liverpool wedding venues I’ve wanted to photograph at for some time.  So for me, it was a double whammy.

Meeting 10 years ago Lydia & Rob still clearly adore each other.  They were beaming with smiles all day and  you could see they are very much in love.  Not only with each other, but also the city they call home.  Their tight knit families were so very welcoming, which always makes a massive difference to my job.   I think you’ll agree it was a very classic and elegant wedding day. With their very grand historic ceremony venue, and fantastic reception venue to boot I think Lydia & Rob planned their perfect day.

St George’s Hall Wedding, Liverpool – Ceremony

St George’s Hall, Liverpool is a totally gorgeous wedding venue.   I mean a 5 star, out of this world wedding venue.  It is a Grade I listed building, and one of the most awe inspiring wedding venues I’ve had the pleasure of photographing at.  The room’s are outstanding, and it is easy to see why it is considered one of the finest neo-classical buildings in the world.  As backdrops for wedding photography go I think the Concert Room at St George’s Hall, Liverpool has to be one of the most elegant and dramatic there is out there.

The venue has a couple of options for weddings, however, Lydia & Rob, in my opinion chose the best one.  They opted for the Concert Room for their wedding ceremony.  With it’s imposing circular structure; the room is decorated with wooden panels, stunning artistry in creams and golds and is completely striking.  Originally designed for Orchestra’s it makes the perfect wedding venue.  Surrounded by the rest of St George’s Hall with it’s grand staircases, beautiful artwork & stone sculptures it has been one of my favourite venues to photograph at to date.

How could we not get some amazing portraits in The Concert Room of St George’s Hall.  It’s not often you get such a dramatic backdrop, and had they said no I think I would have cried.  Luckily Lydia & Rob had prioritised their wedding photography throughout their day and I think you will agree it was worth it.

Hope Street Hotel Wedding Reception, Liverpool

A mix of an old & new build Hope Street Hotel is situated in the cultural quarter of Liverpool right between the two cathedrals.  With a vibrant modern feel, it makes a fantastic wedding venue. In my opinion this was a great choice for Lydia & Rob’s wedding reception giving a different feel to the historic St George’s Hall.  For those considering a Hope Street Hotel Wedding, it is a stunning venue and they offer a number of rooms to meet your needs.

Wedding Reception at the Fifth, Hope Street Hotel, Liverpool

Lydia & Rob opted to hold their wedding reception in the Fifth. This room has massive glazed windows which lead out to a large private terrace with skyline views across the city of Liverpool. This space is perfect for both wedding ceremonies and receptions alike.  Lydia & Rob didn’t disappoint when it came to decorating the space either.  Like something from The White Room, the tables were tastefully decorated with White Candles, flowers and beads, and was visually very elegant and stunning.
