Joshua & Beth’s Engagement Session in Formby National Park
Joshua & Beth chose Formby National Park for their pre-wedding engagement shoot. This amazing couple is from Bolton and on a sunny Sunday afternoon, we headed to the National Park in Formby. This is a beautiful woodland location on the edge of the gorgeous golden Formby sands which head out to the Irish sea. It is a great location for anyone wanting an engagement shoot. With such a beautiful day and a stunning couple, I really couldn’t wait to get sharing their images.
Joshua & Beth
Their love story began whilst both of them were working for a local gym. Joshua told me when his first impression of Beth was that she was exquisite, although a little angry (his words). For Beth, having never spoken to him before she thought the good looking personal trainer would be arrogant. She quickly realised he was actually an amazing guy and as far away from arrogant as anyone could ever be.
Following a trip to the Dominican Republic (where everyone thought Joshua would propose), the couple went to their favourite restaurant to celebrate Beth’s birthday. She told me she had no idea he would propose. Joshua according to Beth was acting weird all night. Not wanting to take his coat off (where he had the ring) and going crazy for double rum and cokes. He finally got down on one knee and asked Beth to marry him. In total shock, she had to keep asking him to repeat it until she finally said yes.
After their meal, they headed to one of their favourite bars to continue the amazing night. Unbeknown to Beth, all her family, and friends, were waiting there for her birthday. Nobody had known about the proposal so there were lots of screams and a few happy tears.
The Engagement Shoot at Formby National Park
Joshua & Beth are just an amazing couple together. After only ten minutes with them, you can see their total love for one another. Not to mention they both have a wicked sense of humour and are full of quick-witted comments.
As soon as we arrived at Formby National Park and started shooting there was so much laughter, so much love… I knew this would be a stunning engagement shoot. Walking around the park, I got to find out what little things they love about each other. Beth told me Joshua is an amazing guitarist and Joshua warned me that the images had better be good as Beth has a black belt in Thai Jitsu The pressure was on and I knew I had to get this couple some stunning images lol.
The sun was shinning even though it was cold, whilst we wandered through the woods towards the beach. Bringing blankets, scarves and thick coats, we hit the beach to get more stunning shots as the sun faded, and the wind picked up.
I loved photographing Joshua & Beth’s engagement and their big day at Abbey House Hotel and Gardens. They are truly an amazing couple and a pleasure to capture.
