A Christmas Wedding | The Wild Boar | Jack & Rachel
What a way to end 2016, with Jack & Rachel’s Christmas Wedding at The Wild Boar in the Lake District.
Many people think of weddings always happening in the summer, blue skies, the sun beating down and sunglasses on. The truth is in the UK it can be the height of summer and still it’s pouring it down, windy and cold. Christmas weddings are special and we absolutely love photographing them. The excitement of Christmas & New Year around the corner and the smell of mulled wine and mince pies in the air, makes for the perfect backdrop to any wedding.

I first met Jack & Rachel at their home in Windermere when we were meeting to discuss their wedding day and heading out to do their pre-wedding shoot at Tarn Hows. What a shoot it was with their gorgeous dog Riley. We laughed as the Lake District wind made us freeze, but we didn’t care, you could see the love they had for each other as the snuggled in the cold and their laughter warmed us up. Driving back down the M6 after the shoot, I knew their wedding day was going to be a Christmas Wedding I’d never forget.
It was our first wedding at The Wild Boar in Windermere and I can’t wait to go back. A beautiful boutique hotel, set in the hills of the Lake District, full of character and charm. The log fire’s we’re roaring, the Christmas lights twinkling and we were welcomed from the cold by one of the warmest welcomes we’ve ever had.

Jack & Rachel I want to thank you for inviting us to capture the moment for you both on your wedding day. You are a pleasure to be around, the laughter, the tears and your friendship will be something I remember for many many years to come. I could carry on typing but to be honest I would be here all day talking about your day, so instead I will let the pictures to the talking. Here’s a little snap shot of your beautiful day.
